LiteHtml.dll is Missing

As the error describes LiteHtml.dll file does not exist on your system. The original file may be renamed, deleted or moved. This describes there is something wrong with a genuine program installed on your PC. In some cases, user’s PC is infected by virus or malware. To start fixing this error, scan your PC for Windows Registry conflicts with a reputed third-party registry optimizer.

Run Program in Compatibility Mode

LiteHtml.dll error indicates there is a file compatibility issue with the program. Rerun the program in compatibility mode as follows:

  1. Right-click AutoCAD desktop icon, select Properties.
  2. This opens up Shortcut Properties dialog box.
  3. Click Compatibility tab.
  4. Check-up the box named “Run this program in compatibility mode for”.
  5. Select an earlier Windows version.
  6. Click Apply | OK.

 

Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++

Uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable as it may be corrupt. Many programs require it to function properly.

  1. Double click Computer icon.
  2. Open following folder, whichever exists:
    • C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2014_English_Win_64bit_dlm\3rdParty\x64\
    • C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2014_English_Win_64bit_dlm\3rdParty\x86\
  3. Right-click VCRedist.exe file, select Run as administrator.
  4. Go through the program installation process.

 

Modify Registry Settings

Change the following Registry settings. If you are unsure, scan your PC through Reginout.

  1. Press Windows Key + R to open up the Run dialog box.
  2. Type “RegEdit” in Open textbox, click OK.
  3. Now that you have Registry Editor opened.
  4. Locate the following subkey:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
  5. Double click a string named “CWDIllegalInDllSearch
  6. Replace its value with “0” (zero; without quotes)
  7. Click OK.
  8. Exit out of the screen.

 

Reinstall AutoCAD

The LiteHtml.dll error appears whenever AutoCAD installation files are overwritten by other programs. The original file may be missing, renamed or deleted.

  1. Press Windows Key + X, select Programs and Features.
  2. This opens up the list of all installed programs.
  3. Right-click AutoCAD, select Uninstall a program.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Restart your PC.
  6. Download a new version of AutoCAD from the Internet and install it.

 

Re-register the File

Your Registry consists of information about every DLL file shared by multiple programs. When this information gets corrupted you get an error message.

  1. Press Windows Key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type the following command:
    RegSvr32 LiteHtml.dll
  3. Restart your system. Press Windows Key + X, click Settings | Power | Restart.

 

Scan for Viruses

It is worth noting that litehtml.dll error also appears on an infected machine. Your computer may be infected. Scan it using a powerful Antivirus. Remember, you must update your antivirus program first.

 

Use System File Checker

Repair corruption of system files using System File Checker tool pre-build in Windows.

  1. Press Windows Key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type the following command:
    sfc /scannow
  3. Press ENTER.

 

Terminate the Process

Using Task Manager load the list of system processes and terminate .dll process.

  1. Press Windows Key + X, select Task Manager.
  2. Click “More details” link.
  3. Click Details tab.
  4. Right-click “lifehtml.dll” process, select End task.

 

Block All Startups

There may be a startup entry for LifeHtml.dll file. The original file may be missing or deleted. Uncheck all startup programs using System Configuration tool.

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type “MSCONFIG” and press ENTER.
  2. Click Startup tab.
  3. Click “Open Task Manager” link.
  4. This opens up Task Manager with Startup tab.
  5. Right-click the startup entry of the file, select Disable option.
