How to Move Photos from Google Drive to Google Photos?

Google Drive and Google Photos are both useful cloud storage platforms serving different purposes. Back in the day, Google Drive used to sync all user data automatically. But, since 2019, it has stopped doing so. This means users will have to sync and upload their photos manually to Google Photos. If you find the process tedious, cheer up, we have something you can use.

Method 1: Manually Download and Upload

This method is the easiest but will require a lot of effort and time if the number of photos is large. Simply visit Google Drive, select the photos you wish to download, download them to your personal computer, and then upload them to Google Photos. This method is only suitable if you plan on moving a handful of photos. If you need to move photos regularly, this option is not feasible.

Method 2: Directly Move Photos to Google Photos

Not many people are aware that you can directly move photos to Google Photos. It is efficient and takes little time. Sign in to your Google Photos account, click “Upload,” and select “Google Drive” from the options. On the pop-up screen, choose “My Drive” and locate the photos you wish to transfer. Finally, click the “Upload” button to start the process. Note that each photo should be larger than 256 pixels, and the file type must be raw, webp, tiff, or jpeg.

Method 3: Transfer Photos Using Easy Cloud Manager

Although the methods mentioned above are tried and tested, if you want an effortless and time-saving process, use Easy Cloud Manager. This online free tool is specifically developed for users who deal with piles of data daily and shift them to other cloud platforms.

Log in using your Google credentials. If this is your first time using the tool, you will need to add the drives. Since Easy Cloud Manager is compatible with almost every cloud platform, transferring data will be easy. You also get the option of filtering files based on size and type, helping you keep important files private. Once you are done with the settings, click the “Transfer Now” button. If you are short on time, you can also “Schedule Task” for a later date.
