How to Batch Rename Files in Adobe Bridge?

1. Adobe Bridge has an in-house powerful photo renaming functionality. Here’s how to use it:

2. Open Adobe Bridge and load all the images that you want to rename.

3. Adobe Bridge will display a thumbnail preview of your images.

4. Select the first image in the role and press and hold the Shift key.

5. Go to the Tools menu and select Batch Rename.

6. You’ll see a new dialog on your screen prompting you to enter the destination folder for renamed files.

  • Rename in the same folder: Bridge will rename your original files in the same directory.
  •  Move to another folder: Use this option if you want to move your files to some other folder and batch rename them. Similar to the above option, it’ll impact the original files.
  • Copy to another folder: We recommend this option as it does not alter your original files. Instead, Bridge copies your files to another directory of your -choice and then renames your files.

7. After specifying a destination directory, it’s time to choose your file naming structure. You can use different parameters such as text, date-time, metadata, etc. Select your desired parameter, enter custom text and then enter the required details. You can also add or remove rows, as you require.

8. Once you’re done, click on the Preview button to see how the changes look like.
