This error can also occur due to files and Registry corruption. Check your Windows registry for issues using a reputed registry optimizing software program.

Uninstall Windows Update KB2918614

Windows Update KB2918614 may cause misconfigurations in your system. Uninstall the update as follows:

1. Press Windows Key + X simultaneously.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Click Programs icon.
4. Click View installed updates under Programs and Features category.
5. Now that you have a list of all installed updates. Press F3 key to initiate Search.
6. Type “KB2918614” in Search Box located on the upper right corner.
7. Right-click Windows Update KB2918614 in Search Results, select Uninstall option.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions, reboot your PC.

 

Delete Transaction Log

Windows file system transaction log may have become corrupted. Delete the transaction log.

1. Press Windows Key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin).
2. Type the following command:
   fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ (Replace C with the Windows drive name)
3. Exit out of the screen.
4. Press Windows Key + C.
5. This opens up Charms Bar. Click Settings | Power | Restart.

 

Temporarily Turn Off Antivirus Protection

An installation gets aborted with error 1359 when your Antivirus security program detects genuine files as false positives. Temporarily turn off your Antivirus program before the installation. Once you’ve successfully installed it, resume the protection.

1. Right-click the system tray icon of your Antivirus program.
2. Select Pause protection.
3. Select a temporary time period, and proceed next.

 

End Adware Process & Delete the File

The process named wtoolsa.exe is identified as an adware. End the process and delete the original file from your hard drive. Make sure the process will not automatically execute the next time your computer starts up.

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
2. Click Task Manager.
3. Click “More details” link.
4. Click Processes tab.
5. Right-click the adware process named wtoolsa.exe, and select End task.
6. Again right click the same adware process, select Open file location.
7. Now that the process is already stopped, simply delete the file.

 

Disable User Account Control Notifications

Turn off UAC notification prompts that appear during installation of programs.

1. Press Windows Key + X, select Control Panel.
2. Click User Accounts and Family Safety.
3. Click User Accounts.
4. Click “Change User Account Control settings” link.
5. This opens up a new page with a slider. Move the slider to far bottom, i.e. Never Notify option.
6. Click OK, and then exit Control Panel.
